Terms & Conditions

 

The quote is valid for one month.  Quote is subject to change after a month depending on the fuel costs at the time of “re-quote” or close to the time of travel. Additional charges will apply to any stops or services not mentioned at the time of booking when the quotation is for transfers only. If the pickup or drop off time is between 00:00 to 05:00 will result in extra charge. Additional pick-up points not mentioned at the time of booking will result in extra charges. Our buses do not go on unpaved, gravel roads.  Parking fees, ferry fees, admission fees and drivers' accommodation is not included unless stated otherwise in quotation. Smoking, alcohol consumption and controlled substances are prohibited on the bus; driver reserves the right to refuse boarding of passengers who contravene this rule and intoxicated passengers. The organizer (individual or entity) of the event will be held responsible to damages caused to the bus by any of the party members. Canwest Coach Lines is not responsible for late arrivals due to delays caused by unpredictable adverse road conditions (slippery winter roads, blockage / delays caused by accidents, construction, landslides, avalanches etc.).

The charges for a charter bus are based on the original information provided at the time of booking. Additional coaches or additional hours not mentioned at the time of booking can usually be arranged by having the driver call the dispatcher for a price adjustment or by directly contacting our office personally.

The National Safety Code of Canada and U.S. Department of Transportation have implemented certain regulations for the protection and safety of both the public and drivers.

 

Drivers are limited to:

  1. 14 consecutive hours of on-duty time on any given day.
  2. Of these 14 hours, from pick-up to drop-off, time is limited to: 10 hours of bus usage time in-town and 12 hours of bus usage time out-of-town.
  3. For a multiple-day trip, the driver must have a minimum of ten (10) consecutive hours of off-duty time before extensively driving again.

 

Deposit & Final Payment:

- Quote is in Canadian funds
- A deposit (50% of total amount or $300, whichever is greater) is due at the time of booking and is payable by Visa or MasterCard (completion of a credit card authorization form needed).
- Full Payment is required when date of departure is within 72 hours from the time of booking or when the total amount is less than $300.
- The remaining balance is due on the day of service or the last day of service for multiple day trips and the balance will be charged to the credit card used for the deposit, unless otherwise requested by client. 
- Customers who are based outside of Vancouver BC would have to pay the remaining balance before the last day of service.
- Personal cheques are not accepted.
- Only local corporate cheques are accepted and full payment need to be received prior the date of departure.
- Driver's gratuity: Please pay to the driver or it can be paid to company by request.

 

Cancellations/refunds:

All cancellations must be received in writing to Canwest Coach Lines and are subject to the following cancellation penalties:

  • if cancellation is made before the 15-day period, 10% will be deducted as administration fee.
  • Cancellations received within 14 days of departure will incur a penalty of 50% of the deposit.
  • There is no refund of the deposit if cancellation is made within 72 hours of the departure date.
  • No shows forfeit entire payment.

 

Note:

  • An individual room must be provided for the driver for overnight trips (It is imperative that drivers have their own room and not share with other tour guides or escorts).

 

Gratuities:

Driver or guide gratuities are not included in the fees. We suggest 10% of charter price.

Canwest Coach Lines Ltd. is not liable for any damage and/or loss of baggage/other property. Baggage and all other property will be handled at the passenger’s risk and only in a size that can be conveniently carried in the storage area(s) of the charter vehicle. Any damage to the coach by the charter party will be charged by the carrier. Canwest Coach Lines reserves the right to substitute equipment of equivalent value and capacity when we believe a substitution is necessary, at our descretion.
