The charges for a charter bus are based on the original information provided at the time of booking. Additional coaches or additional hours not mentioned at the time of booking can usually be arranged by having the driver call the dispatcher for a price adjustment or by directly contacting our office personally.
The National Safety Code of Canada and U.S. Department of Transportation have implemented certain regulations for the protection and safety of both the public and drivers.
Drivers are limited to:
- 14 consecutive hours of on-duty time on any given day.
- Of these 14 hours, from pick-up to drop-off, time is limited to: 10 hours of bus usage time in-town and 12 hours of bus usage time out-of-town.
- For a multiple-day trip, the driver must have a minimum of ten (10) consecutive hours of off-duty time before extensively driving again.
Deposit & Final Payment:
A 50% deposit of total amount or a minimum of Cdn$200 (whichever is greater) is required to confirm a reservation. Remaining balance is due on the day of service.
Cancellations/refunds:
All cancellations must be received in writing to Canwest Coach Lines and are subject to the following cancellation penalties:
- if cancellation is made before the 15-day period, $100 will be deducted as administration fee.
- Cancellations received within 14 days of departure will incur a penalty of 100% of the deposit.
- No shows forfeit entire payment.
Note:
- All highway tolls, ferries, airport pick-up and drop-off fees, national park fees, attraction admissions and G.S.T. are extra.
- A minimum of 3 hours will be charged to all bookings.
- Additional hourly charges will apply when hours of bus usage (provided at the time of booking) is exceeded.
- Smoking, drugs and alcohol products are prohibited on all coaches.
- All animals are not allowed on the coaches, with the exception of guide dogs.
- An individual room must be provided for the driver for overnight trips (It is imperative that drivers have their own room and not share with other tour guides or escorts).
- Driver-guide service is available on mini buses/vans upon request.
Gratuities:
Driver or guide gratuities are not included in the fees. We suggest 10% of charter price.

Baggage and all other property will be handled at the passenger’s risk and only in a size that can be conveniently carried in the storage area(s) of the charter vehicle. Any damage to the coach by the charter party will be charged by the carrier. Canwest Coach Lines reserves the right to substitute equipment of equivalent value and capacity when we believe a substitution is necessary, at our descretion.
